Let's look at some examples business branding. When you think of the Department Store Target what do you visualize? I visualize a red circle with a dot. Target has done an excellent job of business branding with this logo. You automatically associate that symbol with Target.

What about taglines? I'm going to give you some popular taglines and let's see if you can figure out what company they are associated with.

Several companies use taglines as part of their business branding. These taglines have left lasting impressions on your mind, and no doubt when you hear them you automatically think of the Company they're associated with. That's their exact purpose.

What is your unique selling proposition? In other words, what sets your company apart from your competition? What makes you and your company unique? Dominos Pizza is an perfect example of a unique selling proposition. Years ago Dominos Pizza guaranteed that if they didn't deliver your pizza within 30 minutes of your order it would be free. No one else was offering anything like it. This is what made them unique and set them apart from their competition.

Who are you? What are your values? What is your company's mission? Who is your target market? All of these questions should be taken into consideration when creating your personal or business brand.
